To register with Standby Teachers, you need to be a qualified teacher and must be able to work in North or West Yorkshire.
You will be registered in the Standby Teachers office by one of our consultants. The registration process consists of the following elements:
- Discussion about what you are looking for
- Talk about how Standby Teachers service can help you
- Completion of paperwork
- Checking of documentation
- Discussion on what happens next
The documents you will need to bring with you include:
- Proof of identity (Passport) and 2 proofs of address (utility bill / bank statements)
- Teaching qualification certificates
- Bank details and NI number
- Current CRB clearance (if you have one)
- Next of kin name and telephone number
If you are UK qualified you will also need to be registered with the GTC so please bring your letter or membership card. We also require two professional references.
If you are an overseas qualified teacher, you will need to bring your passport, visa, qualifications, UK NARIC and overseas police check. We will still need to carry out the references for you, so we need two contact names and addresses.
We will then carry out additional vetting checks which include the List 99 and carrying out a CRB check. If you do not have a current CRB we will apply for a new one - please write a cheque payable to Standby Teachers for £36. If you are unable to bring your documents, please contact a consultant by calling 01943 864677.
