NQTs and supply teaching
After the long hard slog of exams, training and teaching placements, we expect you are itching to get into the classroom for your first proper teaching job. This can be a daunting prospect but Standby Teachers is here to help you every step of the way. With a few options to consider; Ease your way in with supply teaching work, find a more permanent or long term post to complete one, two or all three of your Induction Year terms. Standby Teachers hopes to provide you with all the necessaries to do either.
If you feel like your confidence needs building up Standby Teachers can offer supply teaching work in a variety of schools; from small village primary schools to large secondary schools. This work varies from daily supply teaching, to long term contracts, dependent on your preference.
In the event that you find a school you really like and there is a vacancy available to you, then Standby Teachers can help. Working together with the school, we can help arrange for the placement to become part of your induction period. Many teachers find this a great way to start teaching once they have gained their QTS, without jumping straight into a year’s commitment.
For teachers who wish to complete all 3 terms at one school, Standby Teachers is here to help you find a permanent position. This option allows you to build strong relationships with pupils and staff and to gain stability. You can also become fully involved with school life and get a real feel for being part of the teaching team.
